[ Glasgow Colleges: Next Generation Libraries Group ]

Welcome to The Hub , the online portal for the Glasgow Colleges Librarians Group (GCLG). The Hub serves to cascade information and training support across the group, with particular emphasis on the Symphony Library Administration system.

The Next Generation Libraries Project has brought significant benefits to member colleges, not only in the acquisition of new hardware and software at the beginning of the project, but upgrading to a new LMS, and facilitating extensive collaboration between college librarians; with particular emphasis on electronic resources, reciprocal borrowing, College mergers, and developments within the Further Education sector and beyond.

The SirsiDynix Symphony Library Administration system is used across three college libraries; City of Glasgow College, Glasgow Clyde College, Glasgow Kelvin College. There are seven Libraries across the three Colleges, supporting almost 40,000 registered students, and almost 100,000 titles across the seven sites.

The Glasgow Colleges Librarians Group (GCLG) comprises librarians from the three Glasgow College Libraries. The group meet on a regular basis to discuss and progress matters of interest to delivering modern Library and Information services to the most diverse readership in education.
