Welcome to The Hub, the online portal for the Glasgow Colleges - Next Generation Libraries Group.
The Hub serves to cascade information and training support across the group, with particular emphasis on the Symphony Library Administration system.
The Next Generation Libraries project has brought significant benefits to member colleges, not only in the acquisition of new hardware and software, but facilitating extensive collaboration between college librarians; with particular emphasis on the demands and challenges of Library 2.0 within the Further Education sector and beyond.
The SirsiDynix Symphony Library Administration system is used across six college libraries, supporting some 100,000 registered students and housing almost 165,000 titles.
The Glasgow Colleges Librarians Group comprises librarians from six Glasgow College Libraries. The group
meet on a regular basis to discuss and progress matters of interest to
delivering modern Library and Information services to the most diverse
readership in education.
